i believe that there should be college sports prgrams. alot of these programs do give the opportunity to some students to get an education that without some sort of athletic scholarships would not be able to do so. alot of the negatives of college athletes are always focused on but sports does help to build character, teaches people to work as a team, and builds leaders. these programs also bring alot of money and attention to these schools and regular students want to be a part of that, such as the cameron crazies. the biggest negative now with college sports is the special treatment of the athletes and the fact that some of these schools forget that student athletes are students first.

I think there should definetly be sport programs in college because there are needs of a sports program. Every high school has a sports program so why shouldn't the next level of education also have one. There are many of advantages of having a sports program in a school. The first one it is a big revenue booster for the school and brings in a lot of money. Also it can bring a lot of recognition to a school if the program is very good. The disadvantages are that sometimes people only think of the sports programs of that school and over look the school's academic programs. Also there goes into a lot of debate where funding should go and this can cause a lot of problems and conflicts over where money should go.

i believe that colleges should have sports programs. it brings many benefits to the college and to the students as well. the benefits it brings to the students is exercise. today scientist are claiming that obesity has become an epidemic and is ruining peoples health. with sports programs many students get the excerise their body needs. also it allows kids who cant afford college tutition to get a sport scholarship and receive an education. this is also an advantage to society as well. the college benefits by having a sports team with students playing because many people like to watch sports games especially if its their school or home town team. so charging admission to these sport events can raise money for th ecollege. but sports can aslo bring negative effects on campus. it sometimes takes the focus of the student off his schoolwork and more onto the sports. it also creates a social hierarchy, with the athletes being at the top of the social ladder. this creates alot of tension between some students.

I think there should definitely be college sports programs. I think it has so many advantages for the students and the school that despite the disadvantages, it's still worth it to keep the programs. However, they should make rules about what grades the athletes have to maintain to stay in the programs. If they started really being strict and kicking people off the team if they don't maintain a good GPA, the athletes will start taking their classes more seriously. Now they don't care because it doesn't matter. They realize that nothing's going to happen if they don't get good grades so they put all their energy and focus into the sports and totally ignore their schoolwork. If they could change this though, they could keep the sports programs and increase the rate of graduation for the athletes.

I think that colleges should have sports programs. Sports programs that offer scholarships (because some dont) are enriching to the student athlete. The student may not have even been able to go to college with out the money provided by the scholarship. College sports programs also allow for an individula to "finetune" their skill in the hopes of becoming a professional athlete. The disadvantages of college sports programs, however, is that they promote low grades. If an indivdual does well on the field and they are passing, no one actually cares what their grade is. They are not encouraging the students to be the best that they can be academically because the school administration is not willing to sacrifice the "superiority" that comes with having for ex. an excellent football team or basketball team.

i think that every college should have sports programs because it not only makes a student active but also refreshes their mind besides from studies. some benefits of college sports are that one remains healthy, active and also socially interacted with other people. some disadvantages of college sports are that students gives less time to their studies.

i beleive college sports should be allowed and given more encouragement. it gives some people who normally would'nt have the opportunity to go to school the avenue to get an education. however, regulations should be made to ensure that the athletes are not exploited.

i believe colleges should have sports programs because it offers students a larger variety of extracurricular activities, plus- it is healthy and fosters positive social skills such as learning to work together- a downside is that students may focus more on sports than their academics and some guys might become too aggressive with competition

Probably the most obvious reason is that the academic subjects will be neglected.
