Compare Miranda from "Sexy" with Mr. Kapasi from "Interpreter of Maladies." How are they alike? How are they different?

miranda from sexy and mr kapasi are similar. they both are the ones who are the spouse's "midwife". they both are the one the truthful spouse wants to kill since they are being cheated by miranda or mr kapasi. miranda actually had relations with the untruthful spouse but mr kapasi did not go that far but i think he would have if time permitted. they are both the same since they feel insecure or unrecognized. they needed someone to take interest in them to be happy with what they are doing. miranda is different since she crossed line line of having an affair while mr kapasi did not.

Mr. Kapasi and Miranda are different and similar. They both thought of having relation with another person even when they were married. The reason behind all this was that they werent happy with their married life so they wanted to get away from their spouses. The difference between Mr. kapasi and Miranda was that he only thought of Mrs. Das being with him, caring for him and taking interest in what he wants to do himself. But Miranda on the other side actually did had an affair.

with mr kapasi it was just lustful thinking and he was obviously having thoughts of relations with mrs das because of his own failing marriage. the difference with miranda is that she knew from the beginning that he was a married man and she could easily ruin his relationship with his wife and family with the affair, but she still continued on with her affair. i feel that both were unsatisfied and were lusting after these two people because of their own pleasures.

miranda and mr. kapasi can be identified as similar characters due to their desire of true love. both of them are not, or were not, satisfied with the love they had in their life. therefore, in miranda's case, she decided to have an affair with someone else's husband and ended up falling in love wiht him. and in mr. kapasi's case, he lusted after an indian woman he's only known for like what, 10-20 minutes? they both wanted to fulfill their sexual desires. mr. kapasi, however, did not go to the extent of actually having an affair like miranda, he only lusted after Mrs. Das.

Miranda and Mr. Kapasi are quite similar. They are both having relationships with people who are married although one is physical and one is mental (actually Mr. kapasi's realtionship is only in his head and not in his and mrs. das's head as well.)They both know that what they are doing is wrong as Dev (Miranda's lover) and Mrs. Das(Mr. K's "lover" ) both have spouses. They both want this "infidelity" to continue until they realize that it cannot and should not go on. Miranda and Mr. Kapasi are different in that, i feel that, Miranda is not desperate while Mr. Kapasi is. He is searching for someone to take his mind off of his lackluster relationship with his wife. I see miranda more as a person who this relationship kind of just fell into her lap. I feel that this is why Mr. K had a much more difficult time letting go than Miranda. She kind of just accepted it, but Mr. Kapasi seemed like he wanted to run after this dream of Mrs. Das and himself.

I felt that Miranda and Mr. Kapasi were different in some ways and very similar in other ways. For one, the way they cheated was very different. Mr. Kapasi was guilty of fantasizing of cheating. Miranda on the other hand was actively involved in cheating. She was fully aware of how the wife would feel if she found out, and of the problems it would cause.
However, they were similar in the sense that they both saw something that wasn't truly in the relationship. Miranda spruced herself up for Dev by wearing the robe, thinking he would appreciate it. Mr. Kapasi saw that Mrs. Das was infatuated with him, but he was wrong. She only wanted him to interpret her malady, and to help her with her guilt. Both were more invested in their respective relationships than they should have been.

I think Miranda and Mr. Kapasia are just hopeless romantics. They want to be swiped off their feet by their love interest and they would live happily ever after. Too bad life is not a fairy tale, and there lucky they figured that out fast. I think that they thought that there interest were perfect. And once they opened their eyes they were able to see that they had flaws like everyone else, and weren’t and couldn’t be everything they needed. Mr. Kapisa wanted a way out of his dull life that he thought that the wife would spice up. And Miranda wanted prince charming but figured out that he was far from it , in a way kind of using her. Maybe they would just be perfect for each other? The way they are different is because Miranda was actually going through the affair while Mr. Kapaski for the most part was thinking about it in his mind. It took him a lot quicker to figure out that they were not meant for each other then Miranda did. Also the way they are different is that Mr. kapasi had to face the spouse of the women he wanted to have an affair with, he looked the man in the face and still wanted a relationship with his wife. While Miranda never met the wife but could only imagine.

I think that Mr. Kaspi and Miranda are simliar in that they are both looking for something to fufill their lives. Mr. Kaspi was in a marriage that was unfilling to him because of his wife losing their baby. When Mrs. Das took intrest in his job of being a interperter he felt important espically because his wife resented his job being that he could help others. Miranda was in a new city where she didn't know any other Indians and meeting Dev made her feel more of a woman because he was the first to pay attention to her legs and essentially be the first to call her sexy. The ways they differed are Mr. Kaspi fantasized about the relationship him and Mrs. Das would have. He cheated with his mind while Miranda actually had a full fledge affair with Dev/ I also believe their different in that Mr. Kaspi knew thinking about having a relationshop with Mrs. Das wa wrong while I believe Miranda enjoyed the affair. She could have pulled out but she was in too deep even knowing about Dev's wife.

Miranda and Mr. Kapasi both have similarities and differences from one another. Both of them were interested in someone that was married and weren't satisfied with their own love life. Also even though Mr. Kapasi didn't go all the way and have an affair with Mrs. Das like Miranda did with Dev, they both cheated, one physically and one mentally. I believe that if Mrs. Das didn't tell him about her son not being Mr. Das', i think they would have had an affair as well too.

Miranda and Mr. Kapasi share some similarities and have some differences. Both revolve around loneliness and affairs. Both felt unfulfilled and alone in their lives. Mr. Kapasi fantasized about an affair, while Miranda actually had an affair. Thinking and acting are 2 different things, so even though there was a possibility for Mr. Kapasi to cheat (at least in his mind), honestly I thought it was just some wishful daydreaming and lusting. However Miranda didn’t even seem to realize what she was doing was wrong.
Miranda and Mr. Kapasi came to realize that their affairs weren’t going to work out in two very different ways. Mr. Kapasi only realized after Mrs. Das revealed her true interest in him, which was his job. Miranda came to realize the nature of what she was doing after a boy whose father cheated on his mother spent the day with her.

Miranda and Mr. Kalpasi are different. Mr. Kalpasi is more like a bystander. He’s not really interfering with the relationship of Mr. and Mrs. Das. The way he would be considered the “mistress” in the story, is by having thoughts about Mrs. Das, by being interested in her. However Miranda actually uses action. Miranda commits the crime and knows it’s wrong. She sleeps with the man and creates a weekly relationship with him even when his wife returned. Even after hearing day after day from Laxmi how much Laxmi’s cousin was being hurt from the same kind of situation, she never bothered to think about his mans wife.

Miranda and Mr. Kapasi are both totally innocent. Miranda doesn't have anyone she has to be faithful to so she's well within her rights to have a relationship. The fact that Dev is married makes him guilty, not her. Mr. Kapasi is married so he would be guilty if he started a relationship with another woman, but he didn't actually do that. The fact that he had some thoughts and feelings for Mrs. Das is not the best thing in the world as far as his marriage is concerned, but it doesn't make him guilty of infidelity. He never actually did anything to actively pursue those feelings so in my opinion, he's also totally innocent.

Miranda and Mr.Kapasi both have their similaries and differences. they both need or needed someone to love and someone who would love them. Mr.Kapasi is a very unhappy married man, he needed someone who would take interest in what he does and that was Mrs.Das, she said it was romantic but she is married too. in Maranda's case she needed a guy would love her and found one but the only problem was that he was already previously married. in both cases marriage came in the middle of their happiness.

Miranda and Mr. Kapasi were similar in some cases and different in others. They were similar because they were both involved with affairs. While Miranda was in an acutal affair, Mr. Kapasi was dreaming of one with Mrs. Das. They both didn't really care about the marriges they were apart of or were affecting. They were different in the fact that Miranda was in an actual affair. Also Miranda was not cheating on anyone she was the one cheating with while Mr. Kapasi was willing to cheat on his wife. Also they both seemed very lonely, Mr. Kapasi seemed very disappointed with his marrige and wanted someone to be interested in him like Mrs. Das. Both in the end also could not go through with the affair after seeing a family in turmoil like the Das family and the monkey attack and Miranda with her coworkers family. While they did have some similarities there situations were very different which caused some differences.
